“Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.” (Psalm 136:1) Over and over again God’s Word both commands and models thankfulness. It’s so important that in the first chapter of Romans, Paul roots every sin in a failure to give thanks to God (Romans 1:21). The stakes couldn’t be higher. And yet we all too easily find ourselves complaining, more aware of what we want than what we’ve been given. “We Are Thankful” reminds us that gratefulness isn’t an option for those who have been redeemed by the blood of Christ. And it’s not only appropriate now. It’s what we’ll be doing for all eternity, praising the God who is always good, always faithful, always worthy of our thanks.
