“One of the greatest privileges and advancements of believers, both in this world and unto eternity, consists in their beholding the glory of Christ.” So said John Owen 500 years ago.
It’s still true. Nothing, in this life or the next, is more important than encountering God’s glory in the face of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 4:6). We see that passion on full display in the songs of heaven:
“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might
and honor and glory and blessing!””
(Revelation 5:12, ESV)
If heaven never gets tired of praising the glorious Christ, how can we?
